FAQ

Got a question about our games? Check out our frequently asked questions, but if you don’t find the answer here give us a shout and we’ll answer it for you.

What is an escape room game?

Escape games are themed spaces which requires players to work together to solve puzzles and find hidden clues to escape a locked room before the time runs out.

Are we really locked in a room?

Yes. But don’t worry, the Games Master monitors each game and even the ‘danger’ themed games are still just games so we wont let anything bad happen to you and your pals. We will never leave you locked in if you go over your time. There will always be an ’emergency exit’ plan in place.

Who Can Play?

Simple answer – anyone aged 9 to 90!*

The games are usually mentally taxing with very little physicality. Although some of the puzzles may be beyond the grasp of younger children they make great scavengers.

Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.

*over 90’s play free on production of proof

Do i need to book in advance?

It’s best to book to secure your preferred time slot. Use the BOOK NOW facility to get it all arranged. Opening times can be found on our homepage and social media pages.

‘Walk ins’ may be facilitated depending on availability, don’t risk missing out – BOOK NOW

We want to book two rooms for the same start time but the booking app has staggered times, what can we do?

The staggered start times are to facilitate different groups but contact us directly and we can arrange the booking for you (subject to availability) at no extra cost.

We are a school trip / corporate group and want to play at a time outside your business hours, can we do this?

Contact us directly to allow us to make special arrangements for your group.

What if we need to change our booking?

Changes and cancellations can be made up to 24 hours before your reservation. The system will not permit changes later than this. ‘No shows’ will not receive a refund.

Do we need to arrive earlier than our booked time slot?

You should arrive to get a team briefing ten minutes before your game start time. At busy times late arrivals may lose playing time.

What should I wear?

Anything you like! Some costume clothing may be provided but wearing it is optional. The games may involve stretching/kneeling so wear whatever is comfortable for you. Various floor coverings may be in use so shoes will be compulsory (flip flops may not be suitable) If you usually need glasses you should bring them.

Can we bring food and drink into the room?

Some rooms may be dusty and are not suitable for dining. We do not recommend eating/drinking in the rooms. Playing under the influence of drink or drugs is not permitted and anyone obviously impaired will not be admitted.

is parking available on site?

We are located on Main Street so there is some on street parking available but we are only 3 minutes walk from the nearest free public car park (Landsdowne)

I suffer from claustrophobia, can I play?

ERs generally aren’t small spaces but occasionally they may involve access to a confined space. If that were the case we would inform players in the ‘room info’ section, same goes for special effects such as strobe lighting, smoke machines.

Players with any concerns should contact us to discuss.

Are the games disability accessible?

While we are a ground floor accessible from the pavement part of our premises has steps. One of our games is fully accessible. Please contact us directly before booking to allow us to make arrangements to best suit your needs.

People with vision/hearing impairments may struggle with the nature of the game but are certainly welcome to play with team members who can assist them.

Can I see the inside of the room before I book?

ERs hate spoilers! We wouldn’t want to take from the mystery element of the game so we keep it fairly secretive. Some teaser photos may be published on our site.

Can I record/ photograph the game?

No. The integrity and enjoyment of the game depends on the mystery of not knowing what to expect so we cannot allow players to record the room or its contents. Staff will assist with a team photo afterwards for use on social media.
